We say that as Christians, we hate sin..yet we are so quick to laugh an off color joke. Or engage in course joking ourselves! Or talk with someone about a past memory that involved sin, and laugh or remember it fondly, especially if it was fun or funny at the time1! I have been guilty of it, and I imagine many others have too. Sometimes I think if we really hated sin the way Christ does, it would give us grief! Sin causes damage! Jesus paid the ultimate price for the damages I have done, and yet, I fail to let it affect me the way it should. Darby, what do you think a Christian's life might look like if he hated sin the way God does? How would it truly affect the various areas of his life?Nanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17461781612631842162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7493119695855925715.post-68391932123193206062009-04-24T08:45:00.000-04:002009-04-24T08:45:00.000-04:00“The Bible is a killer, and this life is a battlef...“The Bible is a killer, and this life is a battlefield rather than an operating room.”

When I had eye surgery this past fall, microscopic instruments were used for making the incisions. It would have been much scarier knowing they were using a sword as the instrument of choice! :) Yet the scripture says if your eye is causing you to sin, tear or gouge it out. I too often would rather have God softly wipe away my sin in a comfortable way instead of killing it with the two-edged sword. May my eyes continue to be opened as I read the Bible to see the utter seriousness and destruction of sin!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7493119695855925715.post-61102634018174651722009-04-23T23:10:00.000-04:002009-04-23T23:10:00.000-04:00your writing are always thought provoking and stra...your writing are always thought provoking and straight forward and precise and to the point. always very well written and explained. have you ever considered writing a book? :)

looking forward to seeing your mom in a few weeks for lunch.bauerpowerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14400090277342671530noreply@blogger.com
